How Chiropractic Works to Fix Middle Back Pain in Springfield, IL

Hey, everybody, this is Dr. Pat from Springfield Wellness Center. And today we’re gonna be talking about how chiropractic helps to fix middle back pain. So middle back pain is a very common condition and obviously expands across a large part of the spine, from the levels about T five, to around the shoulder blade area down all the way to T 12, the end where the curve in the spine starts to change. So you’ve got a broad area that we’re working with, there’s a lot that can happen there. And most commonly, what we see is there’s misalignments that occur in that part of the spine.

How We Fix Middle Back Pain When Misalignment Is Present

Misalignment occurs when there’s muscle imbalance when there’s weakness in the area. Trauma can also cause this as well. There’s lots of different causes for subluxation. So many movements that we do on a daily basis are not perfectly balanced. So we’re calling on different parts of the spine, here and there. And what that leads to over time, is subluxation. And subluxation isn’t always painful at first. Usually, by the time pain has gotten there it’s been a problem for quite some time. So it’s our job as chiropractors to identify and correct that subluxation by using our hands utilizing the chiropractic adjustment. So what I wanted to do today was just demonstrate with an example of what that looks like, just so you can see how easy it is to adjust the middle part of the spine. And so we’ll get into that right now with Dana. So we’ll check out the spine starting here at the bottom.

Deep Breaths

So right here, I’ll have her take a deep breath in and let it out. It’s gonna be a little push. Oh, I saw a pop up. There we go. We’re getting some things moving in there. We’ll do one more right here, take a deep breath. So I have her take a deep breath in and let it all the way out. And just to let all the tissue and everything relax, make the movement nice and easy. It’s just a little gentle push that we do to help generate the force needed in order to move that segment properly.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care, when it’s done right, it’s done specifically, it’s done gently, it doesn’t require a lot of force to accomplish what we need to. So I just wanted to give you an example of a chiropractic adjustment to the middle part of the spine. There are different adjustments that we do, for example, for a rib, what that looks like here, and I won’t do it, but what it looks like is we’ll find that red joint in there’ll be a little bit of a sweeping motion through here, and then apply some pressure through there. So that’s another example of the adjustment with ribs. If they’re out of alignment. You know, when the adjustment is done, there’s usually some pretty instant relief where the person can finally take a deep breath and feel better there. So there’s a couple of examples of adjusting the middle part of the spine. This is something that you feel like you need, please give our office a call and we’ll be happy to work with you.
