When planning your workouts it is important to think about your health as a whole. People who are only into cardiovascular exercise such as running or biking aren’t going to see the same results as those who cross train with weight lifting, stretching, etc. Adding in some variety to your workouts is vital to achieving optimal athletic performance and moving health markers in a positive direction. Plus, the more varied you are in your workouts, the less risk you have to obtain injury because you are not continuously using the same muscles.

At the office we have the 8 Weeks to Wellness Program and our exercises are constantly varied to bring you to your optimum fitness performance. Each workout consists of the modalities below. Read on to see the benefits:

Weight Training:

  • Strengthen and tone muscles to help support your body
  • Protects bone health
  • Helps develop better body mechanic such as balance, coordination, and improved posture
  • Plays a role in disease prevention such as arthritis, osteoporosis, and Type II diabetes

Cardiovascular:

  • Improved heart health for things such as high blood pressure or increased resting heart rate
  • Helps with lung function

Stretching and Flexibility:

  • Increases muscle flexibility and joint range of motion

  • Relieves tension and stress

As you can see some areas have similar benefits and others are very different from each other.
